We have an opportunity for a Finance Assistant (part-time) to join our finance department. The role is based at our head office in Gosforth. The Finance Assistant will work along side our Head of Finance and our Payroll and Finance Assistant.

This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the monthly payroll and supporting with general finance tasks such as purchase invoices and petty cash etc.

To give you an idea of what daily tasks our Finance Assistant would be responsible for-

  • Sales ledger and invoice returns
  • Purchase ledger, supplier payments and remittance
  • Credit Control
  • Input of bank receipt data
  • Petty cash transactions
  • Credit Card reconciliations
  • Client budget control
  • Expense and mileage claims
  • Receive and answer invoicing queries
  • Actioning any queries in a timely and helpful manner
  • Carry out finance audits of the people we support on or off site as necessary

We are a small and busy department that strives to ensure the department works to high standards and meets deadlines, our Finance Assistant will also share this ethos. They will be a multi-tasker, that enjoys working as part of a team, but also happy to work on their own.

Our Finance Assistant will hold GCSE in maths, have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, excellent problem solving, numerical skills. Great attention to detail and data entry skills. Although it’s not essential an AAT level 2 qualification would be desirable.


The post is part time 20 hours per week. We are flexible how these hours are worked over the week and happy to discuss at interview stage.


The salary is £10.75 ph.
